Laura Durnford
GÉANT
Laura Durnford leads the EaPConnect project's marketing communications team and is a Senior Communications Officer at GÉANT. She coordinates the GÉANT community Special Interest Group on Marketing Communications, SIG-Marcomms, where staff from National Research and Education Networks and other relevant organisations can share experiences and best practices.
Laura's work at GÉANT has supported Trust & Identity through the AARC project and the GÉANT project, the annual TNC conference, the promotion of other events and services, and corporate and internal communications,.
Laura has a BSc in Applied Biology from the Liverpool John Moore's University and a Master's in Science Communication from Imperial College. She spent a year in medical research and a few years coaching Imperial College chemical and electrical engineering students in presentation skills before moving to the Netherlands. For twelve years she was a radio producer and presenter with the BBC World Service Science Unit and then the Dutch international broadcaster Radio Netherlands, specialising in science in its broadest terms and winning several awards.
